Samir Mitragotri, PhD
Samir Mitragotri is the Hiller Professor of Bioengineering and Wyss Professor of Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University. He received BS in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, India and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prof. Mitragotri’s research is focused on transdermal, oral and nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems. He is an author of over 300 publications. His inventions have led to products that have been commercialized or are in advanced clinical development. Prof. Mitragotri is an elected member of the US National Academy of Engineering, US National Academy of Medicine and US National Academy of Inventors. He is also a foreign member of Indian National Academy of Engineering. Prof. Mitragotri is also an elected fellow of American Association of Advancement of Science, Controlled Release Society, Biomedical Engineering Society, American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, and American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Bioengineering and Translational Medicine.
