Ofra Benny, PhD

Prof. Ofra Benny is a faculty member at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 2013. Ofra was an Instructor at Harvard Medical School as well as a research associate at the Boston Children’s Hospital. She did her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School – Boston Children’s Hospital from 2008-2010. In 2017 Benny won the Faculty of Medicine Prize for Excellent Research and was awarded a prestigious ERC starting grant for her research in mechanical targeting of nanoparticles as an approach for personalized therapy in cancer. Her research lead to many patents as well as translation towards clinical usage. Benny’s research work lead to many publications in major international journals including Nature Biotechnology (journal cover), Science Advances, JCI, and more and was cited more than 1400 times. Her current focus is on personalized
nanomedicine and “organ on chip” 3D printing technology, combing both experimental and computational analysis approaches.
