Amanda Cano, PhD

Dr. Amanda Cano is member of the Department of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology and Physical Chemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Barcelona.
She graduated on Pharmacy at the University of Salamanca in 2013 and got her Master’s degree in 2014 at the University of Barcelona. In 2015, she gained a competitive fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation to perform her Ph.D. at the University of Barcelona, obtaining the Doctor degree in 2018 with an excellent Cum Laude with international mention. In this period, she combined the experimental activity with teaching experience. Moreover, she carried out several international research stays, such at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, in Portugal, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, in Italy, or the University College of London, in UK. Nowadays,she is members of the Consolidated Research Group of the Generalitat de Catalunya Nanostructured systems for the controlled release of drugs (2017SGR-1477), Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IN2UB) and Center for Biomedical Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases Network (CIBERNED). Recently, she obtained a competitive post-doctoral fellowship from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation to carry out her post-doctoral studies in the field of clinical evaluation of genetic biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease. Her scientific background is focused on the controlled drug delivery systems development and nanomedicine application in neurodegenerative diseases. Her studies gave rise to the publication of several papers in well positioned international journals,
collaboration in several research projects and the assistance to many international conferences.
